Fayette see I couldn't cope with 2 feet of snow every single year!!!! that would do my head in... the thing is here we don't get snow regularly so when it hits EVERYTHING comes to a screeching halt! and i DO mean everything!

This year is highly unusual for us in the fact that we have had two snowstorms in a month! And this polar cold blast from the Antarctic is putting stresses and strains on already stressed Christchurch...
I feel really sorry for those living in seriously quake damaged homes... some of them have NO heating and have walls with huge gaps or walls missing full stop! It was just something NOT needed on top of the quakes!

If you fancy sending a warm wind blowing this way I know I won't be complaining!

I forget how a little snow in areas that aren't used to it can really put a halt to things. It takes a HUGE snowstorm to slow things down here.

I've been reading about the aftermath in Christchurch....can't believe how long it takes to get things back to some kind of "normal". There's not much that I dislike more than being cold, so I really feel for those people without heat!

Here's a little pic of what we deal with each year...maybe it will help you take your mind off of your snow for the time being:

This was taken after my hubby cleared our driveway after a snowstorm a couple of years ago....and yes, that's a neighbor's roof that you can barely see over the top! We don't always get this much snow, but my kids have always made tunnels/caves or sledding hills from the snow piles, so it does get tall after a few storms!

The path to our neighbor's house....a walk I hate to take when it's this cold! *grin*

My home & yard after a heat spell that melted lots of the snow Dang....I think I need to move south before winter sets in again!

Hah shoulda known! WE got slammed with even more flamin white stuff last night... way heavier than the previous night...

add to that one freaking serious thunder storm that had little girl screaming her lungs out... an alarm clock that flicked on to the radio for some unknown reason that had big girl stumbling round her room trying to turn it off... bad mummy hasn't yet moved the new cabinet into place... guess what she walked into! Both ended up in my bed...

I have had to get outside and knock the snow off the spouting which was groaning under the weight... can't afford to lose that right now!

Someone turn on the heat will ya? on full would be good...

We are in the 90's these days....our July was upper 90s and into the 100s and it's been very HUMID...so we have been scorching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I don't complain about that too much...it was that 10 degress F all Winter that I fussed over!!!
