yep its nasty alrighty... and the thing is that here because we don't get the horrendous amounts of snow that you all do every single year our houses or should I say the likes of mine aren't designed to cope well with it...

NOT enough insulation in the walls mostly... mines not double glazed... has no underfloor insulation and only really old really sad carpet down on the floor... no central heating... makes it seem much worse!

And the power keeps fluttering in and out... this last one was an hour long! which in the overall picture isn't bad... but when it takes out one of your heat sources its NOT much fun at all...

So weird to think it is another season somewhere else in the world... we are only just finally getting summer weather here and we should be more than half way through. This year has been so weird for the weather.

We mostly get rain... but Oregon is nice in that we get every season to the fullest.

Awwww poor Cheryl!!!! I have been thinking about you guys over there all day today ... it was amazing to see on the news last night! I hope you keep the layers up and snuggle up with the kids to keep warm. Open ended invite here in sunny and mild Brissy for when you find that darn bus ticket

Thinking of you Cheryl........freezing cold..............brrrrrrrrrrr. How horrible that must be. I've never even experienced the snow thing so I can't really imagine how dreadfully cold it must be.
Boy I'm glad I live in Queensland where it NEVER snows. Winter here and it's 23c.

Wow, I can't imagine not having central heating! I hope you manage to make it through the storms without freezing to death without having to burn your furniture for heat or anything!

Kim, I wore a jacket most of the time that we were on the coast of Oregon...holy cow, it was 25-30 degrees cooler there than here in Utah. But, inland a few miles, and the temp was similar to our Utah temps - it was nice to go inland and warm up once in a while! *grin* I knew it would be cool, but ya know, the mental image I have when I think of the ocean, is warm and tropical. Lol, Oregon is definitely NOT that...but it was so beautiful & lots of fun! What part of Oregon do you live in?

Not us - never would we rub that in
I'm about to go for my morning B-E-A-C-H walk and maybe a paddle but no surfing yet as the ocean is still only 20 - 21 degrees. Needs to get to 22 before I'll go in (maybe a couple more weeks). Then I really will be

I'd die if it were me Cheryl - i love living in QLD cos of the winters here - i hated winter in NSW, but even there we only got snow once every 10 years, and nothing like you guys are getting.

Keep warm chicky, and hope the power problem gets sorted!

Hugs
Carolyn
