Fiction Friday
There is nothing better than curling up with a blankie, a hot cuppa, and a good book. Most of my friends – scrappy and otherwise – are also book nerds, which is helpful, because I can always get a book recommendation when I run out of books to read. (*GASP* I know! The horror!). 9 times out of 10, those recommendations end up with a book in my lap that I normally wouldn’t have considered picking up, so my horizons get broadened…. much to the pleasure of Barnes & Noble’s bank account 😛
Reading on a regular basis not only sucks you into new adventures, it’s actually pretty healthy for you. Reading helps reduce stress (and who couldn’t use a little less stress in their life?), helps keep your brain healthy, lowers your risk for Alzheimer’s or Dementia, expands your vocabulary, improves memory function, focus and concentration, and betters your writing skills.
Just to name a few benefits 😉
Another benefit reading gives us, as scrappers, is bookmarks! Oh sure, the bookmarks hanging on the little spinny rack at Barnes & Noble are cool, but why buy them when we can make our own? We save money (for more books & scrap supplies LOL) and we get to scrap! It’s a win-win as far as I’m concerned 🙂
We have several printable bookmarks in our shop to get you started:
I love them! I love corner bookmarks, too, and you can find those all over the internet. Like these corner quotes:
And these fun monster corner bookmarks for kids (shhh…. I know I would use them myself LOL)
These woodland critters are super cute, too:
You can make bookmarks out of just about anything (and use just about anything, too, lol)
How ADORABLE are these pompom bookmarks??
And these are just CHARMing (get it?)
We’d love to see any bookmarks you have made or want to make. Right now I’m using a boring old receipt *snort*. Personally, I’d like to know what you are reading as well! I’m almost out of reading material (the sudoku in the bathroom doesn’t count LOL), and I can hear the bookstore faintly calling my name…..
