Think Up Thursday – Hybrid Treats
Hello everyone!!! It’s Tanya, here to show you how to create some really cute Easter treats . I don’t know about you, but It seems like Christmas was just yesterday…..now it’s almost EASTER….so crazy! lol.
I am going to create these for all my co-workers. Pastel bunnies for the ladies and the bright eggs for the gents. This would be a really easy Easter project for your child’s classmates.
For this project you can use just about any kit or papers you have in your digital stash. I did some papers that were for girls and some for boys.
Here are some of the papers to create my Easter treats:
To create this fun project, I used Silhoutte Studio, but you can used any photo editing program. I used the design tools on the left to create an Easter egg and a bunny head.
The next step is to open the folder where your papers are saved and just simply drag them to the image. Continue to do this until you have as many pieces that you need. You can do just the bunny head or just the Easter egg.
After you get all the bunnies and eggs you need, you will print. Again, you can simply print and take a pair of scissors and cut them out, or turn on the registration marks so after you print, you can run through your cutting machine.
The next step is to print two sheets of each print….you will need a front and a back to stitch together. After you have finished printing, you will need to cut them out. You can either use a pair of scissors or use your cutting machine. I used my cutting machine.
Now onto the stitching part. You can hand sew if you would like, but I’m definitely not a fan of that. I don’t sew well either but I gave it a shot and it didn’t turn out that bad. Take two of the same prints and have the printed sides facing outward. Make sure to leave an opening to fill with the candy of your choice. I will be using jelly beans.
To finish your project, simply add the candy of your choice and stitch shut.
These are so much fun to make and even more fun to give away. Have fun and let your imagination run wild. You can add each person’s name to the eggs or even sew a tag to the egg when stitching.
I hope that you have enjoyed this project and will give it a try. I would love to see your work in the gallery.
HUGS…..Tanya
