Wordy Wednesday
Do you ever find yourself incapable of coming up with the word you’re thinking of? I find myself having that problem in my daily conversation, scrapping, work….everything. Lol, no matter how hard I try, I can’t think of the word I want….until about 6 hours later 😛 Seriously annoying, and well, it makes me feel old. I’m going to blame it on SLEEP DEPRIVATION (that’s my excuse for almost everything!)
Fortunately, as scrappers, we don’t have to think of the perfect word. We can use WORD ART! I love word art designs that seem a little like my brain…busy, mixed up, chaotic and full of words that mean something, but also provide a fantastic background on your project. This is another situation where it’s easier for me to show you than it is to tell you with words (see? it’s happening again!) Look at this beautiful little layout, Sleep Tight, Little One – it has the words midnight moon in the shape of the MOON. How cute is that!?!
You can find that sweet moon shaped word art design in BooLand’s SLEEP TIGHT Word Art.
Heartstrings Scrap Art has templates with this background text effect. Check out her i heart you #7 templates. She’s done the hard work for you, so you get the artsy look without the effort of making it fit your text the shape! It doesn’t get easier than that. Look at this beautiful sample layout that Bryony (Heartstrings) created with her templates…I just LOVE that circle of text in the background!
PrelestnayaP has a set of templates that provides a more distressed text look in the background…another great technique! Look at this beautiful layout with the bits of text around the page….it gets the message of summer sun across, but also provides interest in the background! Check out PrelestnayaP’s In the Summer Yard Templates to create this effect on your own pages. This layout by carolwenxin uses this technique and the templates perfectly!
Get brave, creative or whatever it takes to use more text in the background of your layouts. It adds a fantastic look and helps set the mood of your page!
