You know that meme you see every so often that says something to the effect of “In 5 more years, 1990 will be 20 years ago”? I remember the first time I saw it on facebook, and I about had a mental breakdown. I graduated from high school in 1990, lol, so I immediately felt OLD 😛

I do have a little love for history. I prefer pre-1500s & ancient history, but it’s fun to go find an “On this day” site and find out what happened in what year. I did that for today – here are 3 things that happened today in years past….

On this day in 1958, Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana. Dubbed The King of Pop, the iconic singer & songwriter entertained the world for over 40 years. I remember doing a pencil drawing of his Thriller album cover when I was in high school!

On this day in 1966, the Beatles played their last live ticketed concert at Candlestick Park in California. Tickets were $4.50-$6.50. Man… you can barely get just a soda for that price anymore.

On this day in 2005, Hurricane Katrina made it’s second landfall. It is reported to be one of the most costliest of hurricanes to date. At the time, I lived in NC, but I have family in AL & FL. It was scary just to watch, I couldn’t imagine living through it!
