Whether you realize it or not, words have power. Spoken or written, a single word can change the course of a situation or the meaning of an entire sentence. They give life to ideas and can even change lives. Words have power on our scrapbook pages, as well. They give meaning and context to our photos, among other things, which is important to understanding why we scrapped the photos in the first place. Here’s a look at a few pages I came across today in my endless lookie-loo’ing in the gallery…

There are only two words on this page by Oldenmeade, but coupled with the blended photos she used, there is a lot of power behind them. You can almost feel the sadness of the person in the forefront of the page.

Elizabeth22 scrapped this page and used uplifting words to go with her photo. The words are inspirational for the girl in the photo, and maybe even for the viewer as well.

Ursula’s page for the Inspiration Mojo Challenge is also, wait for it… inspirational 😉 The photo she used paired with the quote makes us think the woman is happily living by the quote.

The title work on this page by conniemiles is done in a simple yet elegant mix of fonts. I keep hoping the boys will start moving, actually playing their tune for us, so we can listen to the music, too.

Don’t be afraid to use words on your page. Whether you are using titles, word strips, or journaling, words can emphasize what’s important on your page, remind you later why you scrapped it to begin with, and inspire your viewers in so many ways.

Happy Scrapping!
