Wordy Wednesday
We’re here with another Wordy Wednesday. I’m gonna be honest. I’ve never been accused of being short on words. Yup, I’m quite a chatty person, and can ramble with the best of them. But, I recently found out that I haven’t shared enough words about one topic that I really love: PiCKLEBERRYPOP
We were contacted a couple of weeks ago by someone that wanted to know where PiCKLEBERRYPOP was located. I was actually surprised by the question…because well, I knew that PBP is operated out of the US…now 🙂 But, it made me wonder what else people don’t know about PBP, and how many people don’t know how fabulous this site is? So here’s a little info to help you get to know a little more about our word of the day, PiCKLEBERRYPOP!
My name is Fayette Terlouw, the owner of this beautiful website. However, I am not the first owner of PBP. It was previously owned by two wonderful Aussies (at different times)….so I can see why there might be a little confusion on our location. I was given the opportunity to buy the site after I began selling my designs here & helping on the admin side of things. I purchased PBP in December of 2011 and ran the site with the help of another designer/admin, Sheri/Jumpstart Designs. Btw, I had NO idea what I was getting myself into. I don’t think you can be fully prepared for what “running a website” means. Lol, but I jumped in head first, didn’t look back, and have really loved working with this amazing team! So, to answer that first question, PiCKLEBERRYPOP is officially registered as a business here in Utah in the United States.
It has been an interesting ride. I love working with the designers, the customers, creating promos and all sorts of creative things. But, I don’t love the tech side of running a website. Fortunately, I have had loads of great help in that area. For the first few years my hubby, Kees, took care of IT issues and actually coded the site. But, for the sake of his sanity, our marriage, and the hope of any spare time together, he stepped down as the IT department. We went through a few changes, growing pains, and have now settled with a fantastic hosting company that helps with IT issues. I also thank my lucky stars for the day that Sheri (Jumpstart Designs, the other admin at the time) encouraged me to contact Jen Yurko about opening a shop here. Jen has been such an amazing asset to our team, not only on the design side, but also on the tech side! Jen now helps admin our site, answers my constant stream of tech questions and patiently fixes things that I don’t understand (and honestly, don’t want to understand *grin*). She’s also seriously entertaining – you may have noticed that from her blog posts 🙂
One other fabulous person that works hard behind the scenes here at PBP is our Creative Team Manager, Julie/Mother Bear. Julie has been at PBP since long before I arrived, and I have it on good authority that she doesn’t plan to leave 😉 I can’t even tell you how much I love working with her. She is my favorite scrapper on the planet, and continues to amaze me with her talent with each layout! I’m sure many of you feel the same. She manages our CT and keeps some of the best talent at our fingertips, keeps our challenges organized (which is no small task) and just keeps things running smoothly in general. Honestly, PBP wouldn’t be half the site that it is without Julie!
Some of my favorite things about the PBP website are:
- Diverse Design Team – you’ve probably noticed that we’re not one of the “cookie cutter” digi shops. We have a wide variety of styles in our shop and designers from all over the world (12 different countries at last count!) If you like variety, you’ll LOVE PBP!
- Amazing Creative Team – we have some of the best scrappers in all of digi land. Some have been with PBP for many years! They host challenges, promote the website and create some of the most gorgeous layouts with our designers’ products!
- Fabulous Promos like Berry BiG Deals (3rd Tuesday – Friday of each month), My Gal Friday & Mystery Monday – we’ll surprise you with these through the year, FWP Kits every month and lots of other sales & events!
- Fantastic Mojo Challenges – if you haven’t joined in on our challenges yet, give them a try. You’ll complete at least NINE layouts a month and get lots of amazing inspiration, freebies & prizes!
- Awesome Tutorials – Don’t miss our amazing tutorials on our blog. Jen has made it super easy to navigate and find the tute’s that we offer. Just scroll through the list. Be sure to get a drink and some snacks first. You know how quickly time passes when you get absorbed into something like that 🙂 We also have some super helpful Techie Tuesday posts that will help you polish your skills with the digi scrapping programs!
- Community – We have such a welcoming community. Our team and scrappers are totally supportive that love to share and learn together! Head to our forum and tell us about yourself in our Introduce Yourself Forum!
- Customers – We have such amazing customers that are loyal to our shop & design team, but always welcoming to our newest designers. We’d love to have you become one of our regular customers in the shop! To encourage you to do that, I have a little gift for you:
SHOP PBP’s Berry Mixers Collabs
SHOP PBP’s Berry Blends Kits
. . . and there you have it! I told you I could ramble on and on 🙂 If you haven’t checked out PBP, I invite you to browse around and then jump in and join us in the shop and forum! CLICK HERE to register in the SHOP. CLICK HERE to go to the forum – click on the REGISTER button on the right side of the hot pink banner at the top.
Thanks for checking out PBP!

Well… I enjoyed/appreciated reading the above article and learning things I didn’t know, although I’ve known about PBP for quite a while. I then thought I’d look into the Shop and find something to use your Coupon for… I tried to Sign In – having used your site previously! – and it said I had to Register in the Shop in addition to being Registered in the Forum… I went through those steps – and then got the Black Warning Sign: User already exists. or eMail already in use! – Yessss, it’s ME and it wouldn’t let me Sign In to the Shop – and now it won’t let me Register!! 8-/ Please advise or correct it so I can use the Coupon in the Shop. Please – Thank You! ;-} Sincerely, Lynden Blossom

Thanks for your kind words, Marie-Christine. I’m sorry that you’re still having problems uploading layouts to the gallery. I emailed you on February 7 and offered to have one of our French speaking team members help you. But, I need your approval to do that. I don’t want to give your email out without your permission. You can email me at custserv@pickleberrypop.com ~ Fayette
