I am a freelance graphic designer, wife and mom to two kids (ages 8 and almost 10). I love anything that is creative and have spent my whole life taking photographs, drawing, sewing, painting and creating. I also love to travel and am privileged to have seen a lot of the world, first as a child and then as an adult. Some of my favourite places on earth include the Pacific North-west of the US, Turkey, Paris, Spain… my list could go on and on! I also love to travel in Africa and we have seen a lot of our own beautiful country – South Africa. My kids have caught the travel bug from an early age!

DESiGNER Q & A

---

1. What is your favorite color (or color combination) that you just love to design with?

I love natural colours (brown/green/cream) in combination with colours that pop off the page… a bit of purple or pink with some yellow and blue. I love a contrast of light and dark tones so that there is contrast in the pack and on your layout.

2. Describe your life using film titles.

The Tourist. Pay it Forward. Bad Moms (this movie made me laugh out loud too many times!).

3. What book do you think everyone should read?

The Choice by Edith Eger. Amazing book. I have a long list but read this recently. It actually inspired the Kit that I have designed for this promo.

4. You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?

My daughter Miya would certainly include it as a much loved member of our household. No doubt she would have tea parties with the elephant and want him to share her bedroom.

5. What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

What to make for dinner/who I need to call/what work I need to finish/the schedule for the day/when I can have my next cup of coffee!

I am 58 years old, have been married to my hubby Mark for almost 35 years, we have 4 grown kids, 3 sons and a daughter. We have our first wedding coming up in October, my middle son is getting married! We have 2 beautiful grandchildren , a boy aged 5 and a girl aged 6, they are my world! Anyone who knows me calls me the Crazy Dog Lady as I love dogs, and have 4, and waiting for a baby girl pup sometime this year.I have been digi-scrapping since 2007, which I do full-time. My other hobbies include reading, photography and hiking.

1. If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?

I am a very spiritual person, I would absolutely want to know if there is an afterlife for our pets we have lost.

2. If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

I would be a dog living in my household, as they are treated with love and comfort and part of the family. I am a very loyal person and that is exactly how a dog is.

3. What would your perfect Saturday be like?

Spending time with family and friends by the pool, having a casual braai (barbecue)

4. What would your autobiography be called?

Living One Chaotic Day at at Time!

5. What’s your favorite thing to create?

I love designing invitations for friends and family and have done very many over the years. I am busy designing my son’s wedding invitation at the moment.

I’m a retired teacher, math and adult ed. I’ve been married for 52 years this June. Bruce and I have 2 adult children and 4 grandchildren (one of them is an adult). We love traveling to the western national parks (Glacier is our favorite). In warm weather we spend lots of time in the garden, and I love to read.

1. If you had a choice between two superpowers, being invisible or flying, which would you choose? 

Flying – the distances I can cover walking grow shorter and shorter as I get older.

2. What do you consider your scrapping style to be? (Realistic, traditional, artsy, etc) 

All over the place

3. What would your perfect vacation entail? 

I’d love to visit Ireland and spend some time touring and doing genealogy research.

4. Are you married? With or without kids? 

Married 52 years in June. We have 2 grown kids – 1 boy and 1 girl, and 4 grandchildren (one of them is grown, the others are 16, 14, and 7)

5. Do you have any pets? 

No, but I have a new grand pet. My son just adopted a blind, 8yr old shepherd mix named Rusty. I can’t wait to meet him.
