Bellisae Designs (Isa)
We’re happy to introduce our next Our Gal Friday to you! Bellisae Designs (Isa) is a little over 50 years old and lives in France with her husband, three children and dog. She started scrapbooking when her daughter was born at the end of 2005, when she went looking for a creative idea to make the album of her first year. When she discovered digi in 2007, she was immediately won over! No more expensive products invading her desk, just the computer and her! She started designing at the end of April 2009… more than 10 years ago, she can’t believe it! Her family, her children’s personalities and moods in particular, are her first source of inspiration. But a movie, a song, the news, the world in general also regularly inspires her… Apart from scrapbooking, she loves photography, reading, singing, drawing, theatre, cinema, hiking (on foot or by bike), swimming, canoeing, travelling and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends. DESiGNER Q & A
If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
A map and a boat. No desire to get stuck here!
Do you work outside the home?
I worked as a nurse for several years, then, thanks to our moves to New Caledonia and then Guadeloupe, I’ve created and led a workshop of artistic activities for children, was a guesthouse manager and finally a photographer. Since we returned to France, last summer, I have been lucky enough to stay at home to take care of my little family.
What would your theme song be every time you walked into a room?

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
I don’t think about anything special but I SING OUT LOUD all windows wide open!
What would you name your boat if you had one?

I live with my husband and our cat in a small town in the north of the Black Forest and work as a nurse in the outpatient elderly care. I’m an open minded person and can get enthusiastic about a lot things. Be a voice not an echo is a motto of my life. Digital scrapbooking, painting with Photoshop, photography, reading are some of my hobbies.

What would your perfect vacation entail?
I would like to ride Route 66 again on a motor bike, as I did in 1995. This feeling of freedom is still in my mind.
Everyone has a good app idea. What’s yours?
It would be cool to have an APP to beam me to other places, like they do on the Starship Enterprise
Do you have any pets?
I had cats, 3 of own and sometimes also 2-3- foster cats. I’m crazy about them. But now I only have a 13-year-old black cat, named Lara
What would your autobiography be called?
Cheeky Girl Never Grows Up
Where would you go in a time machine?
Many think I will travel to the future to see how life goes on after COVID-19. No, I would travel to the Middle Ages. I like to understand how people could live in this dark time, full of superstition and fear.

I’m French and live 50 km from Paris. For the last 11 years I’ve been scrapping (8 years in paper scrap and 3 years in digital scrap). At a time when I thought to quit scrapping, I discovered digital scrapping by accident found it magical. I learned how to digitally scrap via tutorials on YouTube (and I still have a lot to learn, for sure). I love the fact that you can resize the elements (or even change the colours), it’s incredible what you can do with brushes (this is something that I’d like to investigate deeper). I love 2 styles: elements very close to “real” scrap, as Bellisae provides, with a mix of elements and drawings (this really corresponds to what I used to do in paper scrap) and the Artsy style. With digital scrap, I can more easily feature what I have in mind, and most of all, I don’t need to glue! This is something I really disliked as I usually had many elements on my pages, and I often had to take a photo to remember where the elements were placed before gluing everything.

What is your favorite color (or color combination) that you just love to scrap with?
No preference, really. I love so many colours.
If you had a choice between two superpowers, being invisible or flying, which would you choose?
Flying, as I love travelling, and this would be really amazing. I remember the film Superman. I would have loved being Lois Lane when they were flying.
Are you married? With or without kids?
Married with 3 children and 1 grand-child.
What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
So many things that I could not say exactly, I’m always thinking or dreaming about something when I’m in my car (except when I sing loudly to some rock music!)
What would you name your boat if you had one?
My World Trip (as this is what I want to do once retired)
