Wordy Wednesday
Happy Wednesday, Scrappers! Years ago when I was young and had lots of energy, I would help take care of a huge garden all summer. I loved watching the plants grow and fruit or vegetables develop….nothing better than Supersweet 1000 Yellow tomatoes right out of the garden. Oh wait….fresh corn on the cob, tomatoes & cucumbers are my favorites. Now my mouth is watering! I miss those days, but I’ll be honest, I don’t miss spending most of August & September canning, freezing and even dehydrating the harvest from our garden. Now I enjoy my flower gardens, and get my produce from farmers markets (at least I did last year…haven’t seen them opened yet this year with the pandemic. ACK!)
Now, I don’t want you to think I’m rambling about vegetables for no reason. Today is actually Eat Your Veggies Day! Yup….there’s a day dedicated to vegetables and consuming them. My favorite way to enjoy veggies (other than eating them fresh) is to either grill them in foil with some garlic, seasoning salt and olive oil or stir fry them with a little sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and any other spice you like. Dang…I’m getting hungry again!
In honor of Eat Your Vegies Day, here are a few products that you can use to scrap your own garden adventures, trips to the farmer’s market or even just your haul from the produce section of the grocery store.
I was going to just feature one pack of this collection, but seriously, you need Jen Yurko’s entire Weed ‘Em & Reap Collection. Each set is jam-packed with gorgeous gardening and produce designs…don’t you just love Jen’s Veggie Kids?
Jen Yurko also has a set of CU Garden Veggies that would be perfect for your produce pages!
This next kit doesn’t actually have vegies in it, but it does have everything you’ll need to scrap about planting a garden! My Plant Your Dreams collection is versatile enough to be used to scrap inspiring (plant your DREAM) pages, but it can also work for those pages when you’re playing in the dirt!
Reginafalango has a beautiful set of CU Botanical Cards that would beautiful on any garden or veggie themed project!
So, now that you’ve seen some fun gardening and veggie products, head out and buy you some fresh produce to enjoy. Your body will thank you for it. Happy Eat Your Veggies Day!
