christmas gift boxes under fir tree

It’s Christmas Eve day and all through the house… nothing’s happening. We’re being lounge lizards, lol! The hubs doesn’t have to work today, the tv is on, the ham is thawing… I hope… It’s one of my favorite days, with some of our favorite Christmas Eve day traditions, 3 of which I’m here to share with you!

Somehow, we can’t get through Christmas Eve without watching A Christmas Story, and this year is no different. I’ve seen it so many times, I know it by heart. It has become tradition – sometimes it’ll play repeatedly on a given channel and the TV just stays on that channel all day, lol. (By the way, my Mom owns a leg lamp. That’s how deeply embedded into our Christmas tradition that it’s gotten!) Not seen it yet? How dare you… go find it and watch it – immediately.

Putting the presents up under the tree! This is my favorite. Yes, I arrange them. LOL! Drives Nick nuts because he wants them in stacks according to who’d gifts they are so it makes it easy for him to pass them out in the morning. NO. So tacky 😛 This is my favorite, because I know what’s in all those gifts, and I can’t wait to see the reactions – I love seeing that joy on my kids’ faces. Sadly, this is the first favorite to start disappearing this year, with only 1 kid left in the house, so……… I will be recording the whole thing. No, not really, lol, but the thought crossed my mind 😉

Last but not least, prepping the Christmas morning cinnamon rolls! I’ve been making these cinnamon rolls for a couple of years now, and Natasha’s Kitchen is our favorite recipe. You can find it :here: You make them the night before and pop em in the oven in the morning. So good. I’m cheating this year, and bought a couple of cans of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls…

… I’m tired y’all. It’s been a rough few months, and it’s just 3 of us this year. Don’t judge me! lol!!!

Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions? Share them with us! We’d love to hear about them!
