We’re happy to introduce our next Our Gal Friday to you!
My name is Paulina, friends call me Paula. I am 41 years old and I live in the heart of Europe in Slovakia with my husband and two amazing girls, Hana (14) and Petra (10). I love my family, my friends, my lovely girls, scrapping and designing. My good friend is my camera because I love also photography. Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie that I can watch again, again, and again. I love music, nature, and sunny days. I start each day with a mug of coffee, oh and I can not forget I´m a chocoholic 🙂 I discovered digital scrapbooking in 2007 when I created a calendar with photos of my daughter as a Christmas present for my parents. It was love at first sight 🙂 Then I created many layouts and spent many hours learning how to work with photoshop. After some time I created my own elements and made my first freebies. I am an official designer since February 2009. Yes, exactly 12 years ago I changed jobs. I don´t believe that time flies so much, and I still can do what I love.

Do you work outside the home?
I work only at home, outside only if I have some photoshoots on the exterior. But photography is still like my hobby. I take photography orders sporadically. I like to have scrapbook designing as my main work and photography in on the second place.
If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?
I honestly think that I become a bat, I sleep during the day and work at night 😀
If you could have free, unlimited service for 5 years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur or masseuse, which service would you choose?
Definitely, good cook, because you have to eat every day so I would definitely use these services every day. But I think I’m a happy woman because my husband can handle all these skills very well.
What´s the last thing you watched on tv?
TV News and then Wife Swap.
What Disney character are you most like?
Rabbit Judy Hopps from Zootopia.

My name is Elena, I am 36 years old. I am addicted to many different hobbies. As a child, I went to art school, but then I dropped out. Although I still love to draw, now I like photography and everything related to it more. Family is an important part of my life. We love to travel together and discover new places. So far, we have been to a few places abroad, but in the future we plan to wander around the world. We definitely want to visit Italy and France – these countries inspire with their great culture and rich history. I also love to read, not tabloid novels or detective stories, but serious good books. My favorite writers are Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, Anton Chekhov. Their works contain everything that I love so much: reflections on life, humor, irony.

Would you rather fight one elephant-sized pigeon or 50 pigeon-sized elephants?
If the battle, for which I have been preparing all my life, finally comes to pass, then I will still choose fight one elephant-sized pigeon. Yes, impressive dimensions are a problem, but it’s still better than fighting 50 opponents that can surround, line up strategy and ultimately destroy me. So I will definitely pick one big enemy.
What would you do if you found a penguin in your freezer?
I’ll cook penguin soup, lol
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you?
I once fell asleep at a workshop
What book do you think everyone should read?
Mark Twain, Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
What’s the last thing you watched on tv?
Live Free or Die Hard, with Bruce Willis.

I am the mother of 7 (3 stepchildren who are adopted), grandmother of 17, and great-grandmother of 4 and counting. My husband and I live in West Virginia in the USA. I retired in 2001 as Manager of an IT department for an Oil & Gas Company. I scrap to spend time with my children who are scattered all over the states and to play with computers which I love.

On a scale of 1-10, how lucky are you?
I am a lucky 10. I’ve lived 74 years in relatively good health. I have a wonderful family, live in a free society, and got paid to play with the wonderful tools of the computer age. For almost 20 years, I have been retired where I continue to play with these wonderful tools.
Is a hotdog a sandwich?
Yes, and I LUV them with mustard, onion, sauce & slaw. Of course, if it’s a brat or a melt, I’d want grilled onions and sauerkraut.
What 2 totally normal things become really weird if you do them one after the other?
Drink coffee and eat pickles. I love them both, but not at the same time.
If you have free, unlimited service for 5 years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which service would you choose?
Definitely a good cook if they will shop and clean up afterwards. Just think of the free time you would gain.
If you could make a rule for a day and everyone has to follow it, what would it be?
No one can tell a lie or distort the truth. A person’s word would be sacred and we could trust that we know the truth.
