We’re happy to introduce PBP’s next Our Gal Friday to you!
Hello! My name is Jen, and I currently live in Alabama, just out of Huntsville. I’m married, and between us we have seven kids (ages 18-30) and two grandboys (ages 2 and 4). The oldest two are living their best lives down south in Mobile, we have one in North Carolina, one in Virginia with the grandboys, and the other three live here in town. The youngest is shipping off to Basic Training with the Marines this month. I have been designing since March of 2009. A lot of my products contain characters that I’ve drawn myself. I have been a designer here at Pickleberrypop since March of 2015, and I help Fayette keep things running behind the scenes. When I’m not designing or fiddling with the site, I’m schooling. For the last two years, I have been an online student with the University of West Alabama, studying to obtain a degree in Integrated Marketing and Communication on a Graphic Design track. I hope to have that finished up next year! Aside from work and school, I also love movies (and season shows with lots of episodes), music, reading, and trying to keep my plants alive, lol.

| Would you rather fight one elephant-sized pigeon or 50 pigeon-sized elephants? I think could take on 50 pigeon-sized elephants. Yea. Just shove me into a giant spider web first. Honestly, if you shoved me into a spider web first, I could probably take out 50 elephant-sized pigeons. I have some pretty mean karate moves when I walk through a spider web. Yes ma’am. If you could have three wishes, what would they be? One – I want money, and lots of it. Two – I want my kids to have money, and lots of it, so they stop moving back into my house. Three – I want COVID to go away, world peace, and an end to starvation. (That counts as one wish because it’s only one sentence – HA!) What would your theme song be every time you walked into a room? Just Dance by Lady Gaga What is the one thing you refuse to share? The bear claws from the Publix bakery. You can eat us out of house and home, but if you touch my bear claws, we’re going to have a problem. What’s the last thing you watched on tv? Hulu – Legion (again) and Motherland; Netflix – Supernatural (again); Disney+ – Loki; HBO Max – Suicide Squad; and Prime Video – The Tomorrow War. |

I’m Jamie! I live in central Florida with my hubby, 13 year old daughter and 2 crazy but lovable cats. I love color, chocolate (I grew up in Hershey, PA!), movies, books and being digitally crafty. I also really love my job – I’m a professional development trainer and facilitator working with early childhood teachers.

Do you work outside the home?
I actually get to work at home for the Florida Department of Education. I feel like I get the best of both worlds, I can schedule my travel when it’s not rush hour and can get my work done with as many movies as I need.
What is one thing you know to be true that very few others do?
Trust the journey. We don’t always know where things are headed in our lives and that’s hard for most of us since we like to have that feeling of control. However, when we focus on the endgame we miss what’s currently happening and that we need that experience in order to prepare us for what is ahead. In my experience, the place where I have ended up is way more than I hoped it would be.
Do you have any pets?
We have 2 cats – Pumpkin Pie and Minnie Marshmallow. Pumpkin is aloof and too cool for school but really she’s scared of most everything and can’t admit she loves us. Minnie is the total opposite and is the sweetest, snuggliest love bug who makes the most adorable squeak noises when she jumps on something.
What book do you think everyone should read?
The Day The Crayons Quit because sometimes even colors have things they need to get off their chest.
What Disney Character are you most like?
Oh, that’s so hard cause I love so many! I’d have to say Minnie Mouse because of my love of polka dots and dresses, Ariel and Rapunzel because I’m independent, Belle because I love books and Mulan because I forged my own way.
