The holidays will soon be upon us. Here in the states we’re focusing on the things that we are grateful for in our lives as we celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday. Even though we’re still facing challenges, we have so many things to be thankful for. We don’t have to look too far to see how really fortunate we are, even amidst the turmoil of everyday life. Since it will soon be the season of giving, we thought we’d kick that season off just a little bit early with an opportunity for you to give to a friend in need.

One of our designers and her family are going through an incredibly difficult time. Michelle Davis of MDD Designs is supporting her husband as he is treated for cancer. This is part of her status update that she shared on Facebook yesterday: These last few days have been an emotional rollercoaster ride. Danny developed an infection post-op, the team could not figure out where the infection was coming from and everything they tried was not working. The doctors told me to prepare for the worst. During that night they felt most of the problem was coming from his feet and lower legs. His lower legs had to be amputated and the doctors discovered some additional problems in his abdomen. As soon as these problems were corrected, Danny began to improve. We have new hope. But we are not out of the woods yet.Our hearts go out to Michelle and her family. She’s such a strong woman, but I know she would appreciate our support. In addition to the rising hospital bills, they will need renovations done to their home to make it accessible for Danny.
