AWW … DANDELiON DUST DESiGNS

Hi, everyone! My name is Ginger and I’m originally from Nebraska, but have called Phoenix, AZ home for more than 30 years. I stumbled upon digital scrapbooking back in 2009 when I bought a copy of PSE and there was a CD inside the package on how to digitally scrapbook. I was so intrigued as soon as I got home, I installed PSE and spent the next 6 hours following every step on the CD, until I had completed my first LO. About 3 months after that I started designing and here I am 13 years later, still loving it as much as I did the first day I discovered it. Professionally, I have been in a couple of industries over the years after I graduated from college. I worked in Operations Management for a Fortune 500 Insurance Company for 13 years, before I became a Real Estate Agent 18 years ago, which has allowed me the flexibility to also be a designer. I have a very special announcement coming up next month that I can’t wait to share with you!

DESiGNER Q&A

Describe your workspace.

I have just my laptop, flat screen monitor and mouse in my workspace. I’m super organized and like minimal things around me (I even close all programs except Photoshop when designing), so I don’t get distracted by say a cute puppy video someone sends me, looking at friend’s vacation photos on FB, or searching for that delicious chocolate cake recipe one of my clients just posted on IG.

What are you working on right now?

LOL…actually on my screen at this very moment, is a bundle I’m designing for July 2023!

What tools/programs do you use?

I used PSE for years, and then about 8 years ago I switched to PS. I currently use PSCC 2022 along with Adobe Bridge which manages and keeps all my digital files organized.

What part of the design process do you enjoy the most?

Definitely the planning of each kit/bundle/collection. I love creating custom color palettes, playing around with different names, researching ideas for each project, learning new skills to use in my design work and envisioning each product from start to finish. It is very cool to start with a blank screen and end up with a complete bundle of goodies.

What is one thing this pandemic has taught you?

Life is short…take risks, cross things off my bucket list and live each day to the fullest, as tomorrow is never guaranteed.
