Ms. Dorothy Dickson (1893-1895)was an American-born London theater star who popularized the song Look for the Silver Lining in Britain.She appeared in the Ziegfield Follies before World War II.During the war she was one of the leading figures of a popular London club frequented by Allied troops.Her last stage appearance was in 1980 in a gala performance to commemorate 75 years of "Peter Pan" in which she had performed a half-century earlier.She also maintained a friendship with the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother dating from the 1920s until her death at age 102.As for her film career,Dickson starred in a few silent films, and made her last film appearance in 1949's.
