Growing Life

Studio Pix: Little Things Scrap Kit, Love Is Collection

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t self-conscious about my growing body. Three babies later, and not being able to see my toes still gets to me.
You’d think I’d be used to it since I’m currently pregnant for the third time around, but I’m not. Some of these stretch marks are old and some are brand new and all of these are proof that I have grown life. I know women who wish that they had stretch makes as they wait for their turn to grow a child, and some never get that chance. My heart grows out to you and these are the moments I feel guilty for being embarrassed of my body. But all these feelings are valid and normal too.
I use to feel jealous of women whose skin didn’t stretch like mine did. Those whose belly was perfectly round and cute little belly buttons that flattened instead of pushed out. Those skinny “bitches” who didn’t gain 60 or more pounds with each child. But I soon learned it isn’t about what your belly looks like; it’s beautiful. Because each growing belly holds a perfect little life inside. Stretch marks or not, round or not, we are all doing the something incredible.
I’ve had a chance to grow life, not just once but four magical times (one still birth), Every stretch mark is a reminder how precious life is. How lucky I am to have had the chance to populate this mother earth. Every bump is beautiful because it leads to a future generation. Never forget that mama. Love your battle scars. Love your bump.
This is fabulous! I love that you shared such poignant feelings - your journaling is amazing and your layout is stunning!
