I often ask myself how much I love you. You were always a difficult child, first as a baby, then as a young child and later as a problematic teenager, rebellious, mischievious, secretive, and withdrawn. You grew into a beautiful young woman, still rebellious but rebellion shown against ignorance or some other person trying to enforce their will upon you. I love you because you show spirit yet you are gentle, you are sweet yet strong when necessary. You are beautiful not only on the outside, but in your heart and soul. You reflect my love that I have shown to you over these past 43 years with your constant kindness in small and large acts showing sacrifice when you could easily be selfish. I love you because in spite of what life has presented to you, you have remained soft and gentle. I am so grateful for YOU.
