I made this for those who have been scarred by the most offensive betrayal of all. Ive worked at probation for many years and seen many things. Its halls hold many predators, but the worse by far, are the offenders on the sex abuse caseloads. I cant look them in the face and can find no compassion for their sickness. The only thing I can think about are the cries of a child who has been betrayed, their innocence shatteredthe battle to normalcy they must face. Ive written a poem (in my humble, unknowledgeable, awkward way). to express the anger I feel toward the offenders and the compassion I feel for those precious, yet battered, abused children and the adults they will one day become. Forgive my lack of prowess, the dark and unspeakable subjectplease, just look into my heart.
I think the symbolism here is pretty evident, so I wont bore you with explanations.
