Hubby and I at the Toadstool State Park, Nebraska; last summer.

This Summer, we decided that we were done traveling to Colorado Springs in one
day. Instead of shooting across I80, I76 and I25, we would work out various road
trips to see the hidden sights of Kansas and Nebraska (and spend the night some
where making for much shorter days.) Hubby not thrilled about the cost of extra
hotel nights, but he went along with me.
Hubby grew up in Kansas and has lived in Nebraska for 40 years. I’ve lived in Nebraska
for all of my adult life. As residents, we aren’t inclined to visit the local areas. So, this
past summer, we planned a trip for when we returned home from MJ’s Birthday.
Instead of hitting the interstate, we traveled straight north and the crossed over into
Northwest Nebraska. Lots of amazing scenery, but one of my favorites was Toadstool
State Park, up in the Northwest corner. I had been to many of our other stops, 50 or
so years ago, but I had never even heard to Toadstool State Park.
Wje I told my girlfriend about our trip, she told me about it and I’m so glad she did. It
was definitely one of our favorite stops. And now hubby loves this idea!
