For the 4/20 Art of Memories Challenge, we were asked to use at least 3 brushes, overlays, or transfers, and at least 1 title or piece of word art, and products by Chunlin Designs.
To create this layout, I started by selecting a dark blue paper from the Phases Bundle by Chunlin Designs. I selected the photo of this woman because she appears blurred, as if she is phasing from one form of matter to another. I placed it on the page and selected the screen blend mode, to merge her with the paper without having to do an extraction. Then I placed a transfer of a feather and flower near her.
Next, I created the sky using two brushes from the Phases Bundle, that have multiple paint splatters and stars. I added a photo of a glowing moon and used the screen blend mode again to add it and its glow to my layout. I added a doodled star accent behind the woman's head, and selected a color from the sky as a color overlay. And I used a layer mask to make it appear as if the star extends behind the woman.
I brought the title word art in: "Darling, the moon is still the moon in all of its phases." I used a color overlay and selected a color from the woman's face for the type. I added an accent of the moon's phases above that, using a similar color overlay.
Then, I created a cluster in the lower corner, of three flowers, a feather, and some string. I tucked in some word art that says: "Stay Wild." I used color overlays for the string and the word strip. I used varied opacities and blend modes to achieve a look where the woman and the white flower next to her are the brightest things on the page. Finally, I added a medium blue textured paper on top, and set the blend mode to soft light to unify the textures and colors throughout the layout.
