For the 4/23 Art of Memories challenge, we were asked to find a quote related to April or spring to be the inspiration for our layout. And to create a "pizza" in any shape, filling it with "ingredients" of elements, to go with the quote. Plus use at least one photo and one piece of text or word art.
To create this layout, I started with the quote from Lucy Maud Montgomery: "It is always safe to dream of spring. For it is sure to come; and if it be not just as we have pictured it, it will be infinitely sweeter." After that, I selected the photo of the dog sleeping in the chair, who is dreaming of spring. And dog biscuits. ;-)
Next, I selected a background paper from the Moonlight Oasis Bundle by Sekada Designs with a moon-like shape in the upper left corner. I positioned the extracted dog and chair underneath this moon. And I placed a number of lights, a transfer, and a decorative graphic between the dog and chair and the background.
After that, I used a separate piece of background paper and "cut out" a circle based on a moon shape in that paper. I played around with the circle on the background to represent the "pizza" shape I planned to make, until I liked its size and placement. And, I left it there, and built the pizza on top.
Then, I built the pizza by carefully adding layer after layer of leaves, flower overlays, flowers, and dog biscuits, using drop shadows to create depth. I added a layer of pink paint underneath the pizza to add contrast between the lowest layers and their shadows with the background paper.
Finally, I added a frame behind the chair, a rose by the dog, a moth, and a piece of word art that says: "RELAX... it's your time." Now the doggie can have sweet dreams of eating dog biscuits in the fresh spring air.
