For the
04-03 Art of Memories Challenge, we were asked to create a scrapbook layout featuring at least one big extracted photo and we were given the option of using a template provided by TirAmisu Design.
To create my layout, I started with the template, which has a place for the large extracted photo and two smaller photos. I selected the photos and then extracted the woman in the large photo who is enjoying the rain with her arms out to her sides. I experimented with her size and placement until I liked the arrangement.
Next, I looked through all of the layers in the template. There is a neutral colored background and three layers of paint above it. I took a patterned paper from TirAmisu's Rainy Day: LittleBIGstories kit and put it over top of the neutral background and set the blend mode to Multiply. I liked the white and coppery rust colored paint, but I changed the color of the dark brown paint to a blue that goes with my images and the Rainy Day kit. I also applied two transfers from the Rainy Day kit, underneath the paint layers.
At this point, I used clipping masks to fit my other two photos into the photo frames from the template. I resized and moved them to a different location and rotated one of the frames slightly. I tucked a piece of torn paper and a ticket underneath them, and I tucked the word "rain" underneath the shoulder of the woman in the large extraction.
Then, I added some string to both of the smaller frames. I created a small cluster near them, plus one added flower. And then I hung an umbrella charm from the string. The raindrops on the right side are from the overlaid paper, and the raindrops on the left side are from a transfer.
