Planting Up a Treely Good Time

Journaling: 1 Eagle Scout Project
1 Den Leader
1 Eager Cub Scout
1 Red Bud Tree
Dirt
Water

Directions: Pick up a free Red Bud Tree from a Boy Scout working on his Eagle project and bring it home. Have the Den Leader dig a hole in your front yard. Place the tree in the whole and use the Cub Scout to fill in the dirt around it. Thoroughly water the tree to help it grow.
We had seen a story on the news about a Boy Scout giving away trees as part of his Eagle Project to anyone who wanted one. Having lost the trees in our front yard to hurricanes and wanting to replace them we thought this was a great way to help a follow scout and our planet as well as some day have a shade tree in the yard again. George and Victor had fun working together to plant our new Red Bud tree.
