Then and Now, the Bridge

07-17-2012 vs 07-17-2017 ... Location: Our 5 acres in Punta Gorda, Florida, USA
Our chinese-style bridge was built because during the summer when the rains come, one cannot access the island. Pretty little island but in the summer, you had to swim to get there! Swim... in a Florida pond - see the problem?!
(for people unfamiliar for what Florida stands for - i mean ALLIGATORS)

Wow, this would be such a beautiful area to sit and read a book or go walking around!! Love the layout!

There is quite a difference between the seasons and how very lucky you are to have this in your very own 5 acres. Are you serious about having alligators in the pond? Oh my...I wouldn't be too thrilled about that :eek2: Your background paper, the blend is perfection and showcases the photos in the most delightful way. The wet season is just a wonderful vista and if the weather allowed would make a perfect picnic spot and an absolute unwind and relax - whilst keeping one eye open for a hungry alligator! I love your chinese bridge - it really is beautiful and the colour is just gorgeous. Thank you for participating in the challenge!

Thanks for your gracious words of encouragement. I'm new to scrapping and fitting these into my schedule is hard but I enjoy it greatly. The yard is a handful (my husband cannot help). Gators - actually none have shown up in this smaller pond (yet) but 20 feet away is our other pond and we've had a couple of teethy visitors in the 10 years we've been here. I'm from Texas originally so seeing one in one's "swimming hole" is still kind of shocking.

A beautiful scene, how lucky you are to live here, not so pleasing are the alligators though.

Wow, what a stunning layout and scene. Lol, and I'd be grateful for that little bridge to keep you safe from the gators!

This layout really caught my eye when I was looking through the Gallery. I love the "Big Picture" in the background and the smaller photo used to show the contrast. I love Then & Now layouts anyway! Hopefully the gators stay in the water and far away from you, your family & pets!
