My daughter lives on Treasure Island in Florida. (It always makes me chuckle to say she lives on Treasure Island.) Her home is a short half mile walk from the beach trail, about a mile from the actual water. Their stretch of sand is much deeper than our fairly narrow strips of sand here on the West Coast. Along the Treasure Island Beach Trail there are hotels on the land side and about a quarter mile of beach on the bay side. In front of the Thunderbird Beach Resort they usually fly these amazing kites. It’s a place where crabs craw along the sand, lobsters, seahorses, fish, sharks, whales, mermaids, divers, and even pigs fly in the brisk on-shore winds.
