Have you ever had a Foot Zone?

One of my clients came in last week that hasn't been in for a while and as we were catching up I discovered that she has just graduated from foot zoning. So.. tomorrow morning I am going to go give it a try.. I have heard some things I am a bit nervous about.. Like that all the negative energy will seep into their hands and cause them to feel your energy.... which could be really really really bad considering the week I have had!!! And that all the toxins can go into their hands, which again is kind of scary because I am pretty sure I am overly toxic!! Ummm soo is this a good thing? When I said heck ya, I will give it a try then I was all for it.. now that I have heard all the other things I am actually scared for the poor girl :(

What is Foot Zone Therapy

Zone Therapy is precise, directed pressure to the various “zones” of the feet. The Zone Therapy practitioner observes the foot and interprets the “messages’ it conveys through discoloration, texture and tenderness.

When a signal point is triggered within a certain zone, a message goes to the tissue or organ effected, through a reflex arc to the spinal cord and then to the brain. Discomfort is experienced in the areas of imbalance–areas where healing is needed.

Zone Therapy stimulates every organ and renews the cell system in each treatment. Zone Therapy is a holistic approach which recognizes that all of the body’s cells and organs make up a complex and interactive organism.

Zone Balance does take time. It works with the body’s own innate intelligence, and only allows the body to do what it can when it can.

It is extremely important that your Zone Therapy treatment be administered by a Certified Zone Therapist. Much more occurs during a session than meets your eye or awareness, and practitioner experience is essential to achieving the full physical, mental and emotional benefit. A session typically lasts for 40-45 minutes. Multiple and consistent sessions over a two month period are recommended to detoxify and establish the bodies restorative process. After this period, you and your therapist will determine a schedule that is based on your individual needs and overall health. You will find that your body will tell you when it’s time for a Zone.

He determined that the body contains its own innate healing intelligence which is stimulated or triggered through specific and intricate Foot Zone Therapy. This method utilizes the feet’s natural “signal” system to establish balance, elevate your life energy and renew cells in the body. Importantly, he discovered that the body would consistently respond as a dynamically interrelated whole rather than as separate symptomatic parts. During this time of research, Dr. Ersdal was able to chart the human anatomy as it relates to these “points” on the foot. He charted the entire physiology including the brain, blood and lymph circulation, and musculature.

This was a great breakthrough because it is the brain to which information from the foot is sent via Foot Zone Therapy. In turn the brain makes the corrections to your whole health system. Remember, the entire body is run by instruction from the brain. Zone Therapy has been found to be a “signal”, or electro-magnetic system, rather than a reflex system and treats the body holistically rather than symptomatically. Plus, the body is always treated in its entirety. Thus no partial zone treatments are advised.

Could I have any side effects?

ide effects evoke bad images, so while I don’t think you’ll have side effects, there are possible effects. Remember that the body is bringing itself into balance so there are several responses that may occur.
  • Some clients feel energized with more vitality.
  • There may be a change in sleep patterns. Your sleep may become deeper and calmer or dreams may be more active.
  • Fatigue. Your body may respond by needing more sleep so it can rest and repair.
  • Emotional or psychological releases may result in crying or laughing.
  • Your digestive system may be more active.
  • There may be increased skin activity or perspiration.
  • You could have greater clarity of thought.
  • There may be a release of stress and a feeling of being more in balance.
  • Frequent urination and detoxification may occur.

soooooo I was pretty skeptical going into it. When I taught cosmetology then one of my students asked if she could do a foot zone on me while I was teaching and I said sure.. haha she had to quit all of a sudden with this freaked out expression saying I had too much bad energy :(

Wow it was pretty cool.. The pressure points were very real and right on as to points of areas of my body that were having issues or pains. The drains in your body are opened up by the releases that she used and that was quite interesting as well.. my feet swell horribly and they were swollen and they are not now! that part alone was worth it.

There were places that were targeted for emotional distresses that you can be having in your life and I didn't reveal any of those going on in my life when going in but she hit on some very real things when getting to different areas. so.. all in all I am pretty humbled and feel like it was a great experience. I felt a little more tired today than usual but, I feel good as well.

It WAS worth the $30.. was a 90 minute appointment and a good experience. she shared a book that I am looking into buying that I think is a good read. "Feeling Buried Alive, Never Die" Karol K Truman. my husband looked it up for me while I was there and it is downloadable for $9. so well worth the money for what I read in it while I was at the appointment.

A good day and good experience!!! Give it a try! I will be going back :)

I'm the same with trying essential oils. So curious, but haven't spent the money on them yet. I think I t probably doesn't help that my husband is a huge skeptic, and pretty much scoffs at people who do these things. It feels like I'm peeking from behind a rock or something, any time I bring this stuff up. Lol.

She did use an essential oil, but not something that I felt was an overboard thing, she used an almond oil to rub onto my feet but, I think that was probably just to do the massage and kneading of the feet to stimulate the draining and areas to relieve the pressure points etc. I really enjoyed it and felt and am still feeling good. I do believe that things of this nature are a personal experience and something that you should feel comfortable trying on your own if you so choose to do.. Things of this nature are most likely not for everyone for sure, my mother in law when going through a severe illness without being able to be helped by a physician went to a Chinese specialist that helped her tremendously. Not sure if that would necessarily be something for everyone either.

Definately not for me.....just the thought of someone touching and massaging my feet really freaks me out....I think feet are the ugliest things.
I'm weird anyway because I can't even stand to have a massage.

My sister and I have scars on our feet from 3rd degree burns as children (I was 4, she was 1, almost 2). I could not stand even wearing sandals until later high school years. Now I can get a pedicure, no problem :)

My original point. .. i thought feet were so gross for a long time as well! Haha
