I am Karen (aka Kakleidesigns), a 54-year-old woman that loves to create and speak about important stuff through my creations. I like to preach about tolerance, empowerment, and self-love, so that’s what I try to do with everything I do in my daily life. I am also a grandmother born in Uruguay that lives in Israel and speaks 3 languages but very badly…LOL! Spanish, my mother tongue, English and Hebrew. I see life as poetry and I try to write every verse through my designs…I hope you like what I offer you.

DESiGNER Q & A

When is your favorite time of day the day to design?

I love my quiet mornings, because of the difference of time with everybody else in the world, when I am designing, the rest of the world sleeps.

What software do you use to design?

I use Photoshop 2021 (and is heavy, expensive but I love it!)

How would you describe your product style?

I think it is a mix of different styles. You can say it is realistic, but it also has a lot of artsy and Mixed media.

You can say it is mostly for women and adults. But I am always thinking about the men in my life when I am creating and my adorable grandson, so it can be also very cute, unisex, and childish.

What is your biggest challenge during your creative process?

My biggest challenge is not to delete what I create all the time. People think I am fast, and I am…but what they don’t know is that I am the kind of designer that deletes and start over many times before being satisfied. I also find it hard to make the previews to showcase my kits. That’s why, once I am finished, I close everything, go for a coffee and come back to finish much later.

If you weren’t designing scrapbook kits, what would you be doing?

I always ask myself that…and I guess I would be working with dogs or any kind of animal if I got the chance. I would not go back to work in an office or in a store trying to please everybody, I don’t think I could do a good job in that anymore.
