I scanned my Grandmother's journal from 1929...to my delight I found photos from the same day in an album.
Her journal reads:
I went to early Mass then we all got ready and they dropped me off in Penfield and went to Holland's Cove while I went to Canandaigua with Dixons. Had a great time floating around in tubes. I went under twice but I swam out to shore OK. It's a good thing I didn't get scared. We snapped some pictures.
