Pat had quite an adventure on the west coast of the US. He got a quite few stares from other travelers when he posed on the info board as we crossed Oregon - lol, he loved the "can you trust your eyes" line on the sign! I'm quite sure other tourists wondered what the heck a pickle was doing on the sign (so they probably DID NOT trust their eyes!) Oregon's Mt. Hood in the background!

Pat loved the view of the beach from the balcony of our room in southern Oregon - too bad it wasn't about 20 degrees warmer! Brrrrrrrrr!!!

Pat getting ready to board the boats for our trip up the Rogue River

Enjoying the gorgeous view from the boat on the Rogue River.

Pat LOVED the funky porch on this little old house in Port Arena, California & insisted that we stop and let him pose by the buoy curtain

Making friends with the local wildlife - northern California

Whale watching on the coast in northern California - this whale breeched the surface over and over, less than 100 feet from the shore. Unfortunately, I was too busy watching, and didn't get a great pic. You'll just have to take my word for it...and well, you can see by Pat's expression how impressed he was!

Check out the size of the trunk on this downed redwood tree! Pat loved the Redwoods, although he pouted a bit when we refused to help him climb to the top of the biggest ones

Pat got SOOOOO excited when he saw this sign....then he remembered he was still in the US.

Enjoying the view from the Dutch Consulate on 31st floor, downtown San Francisco

Leaving the dock for our Bridge to Bridge Bay Cruise in San Francisco with Telegraph Hill in the background.

It was another foggy day in San Francisco, but Pat still loved going across and then seeing the Golden Gate Bridge from the underside.

We considered leaving Pat at Alcatraz, but didn't want to be turned in for pickle abuse....so we decided to keep him *grin*
All in all, I think Pat enjoyed his trip. We on the other hand, are happy that we're no longer getting the "eye" for carrying a pickle with us everywhere we go!
