well I made it home again today from work - the road next to us was filling with flood water when I left at 12noon so I hate to imagine how high it will be by the time the tide reaches its highest point at 3pm ... seeing the footage of the city where the river is coming up is just gobsmacking!

I am so glad I am on annual leave tomorrow as it is suppose to be worse then :)

Do hope everyone is safe. These floods are just devastating. I am thankful that we now live on the Gold Coast cause we were in Brisbane in '74.

But now we have a house full of evacuees -

Room 1: DH & me - and I'm not giving up my king size bed for anyone
Room 2: DiL & grandson (2 yrs) and DiL who is due in 2 weeks
Room 3: Friends who just downsized in Nov to a lovely little unit on the Bne River!!!!!
Room 4: BiL & wife - they have to suffer the fold out divan bed. :(

At our little unit at Tallebudgera, we have:

Room 1: friends from Bundaberg who have been here since Christmas and can't get home - and don't know what they will go back to when they eventually can get there
Room 2: DH's cousin & wife who have (or had) a beautiful home at Jindalee

Unfortunately DS is stranded at the drilling rig outside Millmerran (south of Toowoomba) which hasn't been flooded but they are now cut off from the world - his wife is DiL who is due in 2 weeks and they live outside Murwillumbah so I think she might be here for a while too.

So I am here hiding in my little room cause it is sheer bedlam in this household

But they are all safe and we are having lots of :grouphug: amongst the chaos.

I hope everyone is staying safe and dry....

We are in Vic but watching our property flood again (only very minor) after 78mms of rain in 4 hours yesterday.... it is supposed to be summer!!!! Our first year living here we only had 8omm of rain in the entire year!!!!

Feeling so sad and depressed for all those in Queensland who have lost homes and loved ones...

stay safe!

Glad you got home safely Amanda!

Trish you are wonderful for taking so many in!

I just heard from LorieM who lives in the CBD. Her and her family are safe, but she has no internet obviously. Thankfully, she could get a message through to me via her phone.

Hugs

Trish it must be crazy at your place but bless your heart for taking everyone in

Kate keep your feet dry ... apparently there is a cyclone forming that could impact the coast in the next two weeks!! Thats all any of us need!

I hope Lorie Stays safe ... it is just madness in the CBD at the moment!
